Sarah & Matthew : Goldsborough Hall

We had the pleasure of photographing Sarah & Matthew’s wedding at Goldsborough Hall a couple of weeks ago. We’d met them last year when Sarah was a bridesmaid at Laura & Andrew’s wedding.

Both the ceremony and reception were at Goldsborough which was great as it’s such a gorgeous venue. The weather looked very unpromising when we arrived but the rain soon cleared up and we were left with dry weather for the rest of the day which meant we were able to go outside for photographs.

It was such a happy day and Sarah and Matthew are a really lovely couple – it was a real pleasure to be part of it. Here are just a few images of the day.

Louise & Alistair : Pre-Wedding Roundhay Park

Back at the beginning of February I met up with Louise & Alistair at Roundhay Park for their pre wedding shoot. As you will be able to tell from the pictures it was a little cold. Winter having it’s last hurrah! after what has been quite a mild winter.

We were all wrapped up warm though and we decided to get straight into taking the images. I managed to get some great shots of the two of them looking loved up and cool by the lake. Headed round parts of the part the Louise & Alistair had not been to before.

Afterwards we headed back to the Lakeside cafe for tea and cake which is always a nice way finish a shoot.

Louise & Alsitair are getting married at Goldsborough Hall at the end of  March so keep checking back for a wedding report from their day.

Ripley Castle Wedding Fair : 4th March 2012

On Sunday 4th March you can catch us at Ripley Castle for their wedding fair run by Love Events. Ripley Castle and Gardens is a truly special venue, in a beautiful location with memorable surroundings. Few locations in the country come close to matching the wild beauty of the castle, standing tall above the quiet village of Ripley. The Ingilby family has been housed at Ripley Castle for over 700 years, an indication of the wealth of history and opulence that the castle holds. The grounds are exceptionally well maintained; with stunning walled gardens, tranquil lakes and a wild deer park beyond; it is the picture-perfect scene for any wedding.

We love Ripley Castle and the team there who always make us feel welcome. We already have a number of weddings booked here this year. Hopefully those of you that come to the wedding fair will pop over to the stand and chat about your wedding. We love to talk about what we could do for you  and have a wide selection of Haribo sweets that we can tempt you with.

Sarah & Matthew : Pre-Wedding Shoot Sculpture Park

Back at the end of January I spent a lovely cold crisp winters day with Sarah & Matthew at the Sculpture Park for their pre wedding shoot. This is a lovely place I take the kids for long walks and to admire the art work scattered all around the park. After a coffee and hot chocolate to warm ourselves up we all got wrapped up and headed out. Both Sarah & Matthew we great and loved the place. They are getting married at Goldsborough Hall in March and will be lovely to be back there so soon after the last wedding we did at the end of December.

Aspire Photography Training – A to Z Photography & Business

This week I have been back up in the Lakes with the lovely Aspire Photography Training. This time it was to spend time with a bunch of great photographers who were on the A to Z Photography & Business course. The guys experience 4 days covering all aspects of having a photography business. I was their for day 3 to discuss my digital workflow based around my use of Adobe Lightroom. Since the world has gone digital it can be very daunting for people new to photography on how they managed / process & archive their images. Lightroom is a great piece of software that can help you with this.

Although the day was mainly classroom based we still had the opportunity to go out and shoot with the lovely Ella. We then used those images to go through a live demo of taking the image from camera to an image that is ready to print or in this case put up on the web for a website / blog or in any form of social media such as Facebook. Below are some of the images we processed on the day. Once again thanks to Rachel for helping us out and finding the amazing red top hat.
