Sarah & Matthew : Pre-Wedding Shoot Sculpture Park

Back at the end of January I spent a lovely cold crisp winters day with Sarah & Matthew at the Sculpture Park for their pre wedding shoot. This is a lovely place I take the kids for long walks and to admire the art work scattered all around the park. After a coffee and hot chocolate to warm ourselves up we all got wrapped up and headed out. Both Sarah & Matthew we great and loved the place. They are getting married at Goldsborough Hall in March and will be lovely to be back there so soon after the last wedding we did at the end of December.

Aspire Photography Training – A to Z Photography & Business

This week I have been back up in the Lakes with the lovely Aspire Photography Training. This time it was to spend time with a bunch of great photographers who were on the A to Z Photography & Business course. The guys experience 4 days covering all aspects of having a photography business. I was their for day 3 to discuss my digital workflow based around my use of Adobe Lightroom. Since the world has gone digital it can be very daunting for people new to photography on how they managed / process & archive their images. Lightroom is a great piece of software that can help you with this.

Although the day was mainly classroom based we still had the opportunity to go out and shoot with the lovely Ella. We then used those images to go through a live demo of taking the image from camera to an image that is ready to print or in this case put up on the web for a website / blog or in any form of social media such as Facebook. Below are some of the images we processed on the day. Once again thanks to Rachel for helping us out and finding the amazing red top hat.

Gemma & Zac : Pre Wedding Shoot London

I spent last weekend down in London and whilst I was there I met up with Gemma & Zac for their pre wedding shoot. I’m originally a London boy and love the city so it’s always a treat to go there.

I met up with Gemma and Zac on the South Bank for their shoot. It was a lovely sunny day – albeit freezing! We were all wrapped up warm though and we managed to get some great shots of the two of them looking loved up and cool by the river. The light was great and I got to play with the low sun on a few shots which gives them a vintage fashiony feel I think.

Gemma and Zac are getting married up in Yorkshire in March so keep checking back for a wedding report from their day.

Aisling & Andrew : Inn at Whitewell

Back in November (seems like a lifetime ago) we spent a fantastic day at Aisling and Andrew’s wedding.

The day was a perfect winters day. Really cold but bright and sunny, and the location couldn’t have been more perfect. We were back at one of our favourite places, the Inn at Whitewell in Lancashire and it was one of those days where we really love our job.

Everything was taking place at the Inn. Both Aisling and Andrew were getting ready there too so it was all very chilled and relaxed. The ceremony was quite late and we had some lovely low winter light streaming in through the windows. Afterwards it was a bit of a race against time to catch the light outside for Aisling and Andrew’s couple shots. They were really game and braved the cold outside for some fantastic pictures – they were  both amazing!

After that Aisling and Andrew rejoined their guests and the party really started. We left when the evening reception was in full swing. It had been such a great day.

Congratulations to Aisling and Andrew and thank you for inviting us to be part of your wedding day.

Emma & Jack : The Royal Hotel Kirkby Lonsdale

Another ace September wedding we covered was Emma & Jack’s in Kirkby Lonsdale. We had a gorgeous drive over the tops to get there, and I went straight to Emma’s parents’ house where Emma was getting ready whilst Lou dropped in on Jack and his best man who were getting ready at The Royal Hotel which was also the reception venue.

The ceremony was at the beautiful little church where Emma’s dad is Deacon. He conducted some of the ceremony so it was all really lovely and personal. After the ceremony we had permission to sneak into the garden of a local lady where there were amazing views over the valley. We got some gorgeous pictures of Emma and Jack there. Then it was a quick walk back to the hotel for the reception. The hotel is beautiful – right on the main market square so we had lots of spectators for the family shots. We just managed to get them all done when the rain started, so it was everybody inside for the wedding breakfast, speeches and dancing.

Emma & Jack, congratulations to you both and thank you for asking us to be part of your wedding,

Lou & Phil xxx
