Helen & Mark : Pre-Wedding West End : London

Last week I headed on down to  my home town of London to photograph Helen & Mark. This had been planned for a while and the forecast at the beginning of the week was for monsoon type rain all day. The forecasters for once got  it right and it was just a little wet to say the least. I met up with Helen and Mark at a patisserie on Piccadilly  and after a lovely coffee we bravely headed out to take some pictures. I have to say these guys fully embraced the day and were fantastic as we headed all round The West End. Starting off where they first met at Green Park Station. We finished the day around Brixton and the ace old market with some great coffee shops and a cafe that does DIY Toast with toasters on each table. A genius idea I think!. Helen & Mark are getting married and the gorgeous Allerton Castle back in Yorkshire and we love photographing weddings there.

We chatted about their day and things that they  have planned over another coffee and cake – needless to say it sounds as if it’s going to be a great day and Lou & I are really looking forward to it. Let’s hope the weather will be a lot better.

Aspire Photography Training – A to Z Photography & Business

Not a week has passed and I find myself back with Aspire Photography Training. This time it was to spend time with a bunch of great photographers who were on the A to Z Photography & Business course. The guys experience 4 days covering all aspects of having a photography business. I was their for day 3 to discuss my digital workflow based around my use of Adobe Lightroom. Since the world has gone digital it can be very daunting for people new to photography on how they managed / process & archive their images. Lightroom is a great piece of software that can help you with this.

Although the day was mainly classroom based we still had the opportunity to go out and shoot with the lovely Ellie. We then used those images to go through a live demo of taking the image from camera to an image that is ready to print or in this case put up on the web for a website / blog or in any form of social media such as Facebook. Below are some of the images we processed on the day. Once again thanks to Rachel for helping us out.

Aspire Photography Training : Bespoke Day & I Do I Do I Do

This week I have been back up in the Lakes with the lovely Aspire Photography Training for 2 separate days of training. Tuesday was with Bespoke Group 36 who have started on their journey into to the world of photography. The day was about explaining how I approach my wedding photography business. The bulk of the was out shooting the lovely couple Sarah & James. First a pre-wedding shoot and then in the afternoon all dressed up to run through a wedding day starting at the church.

On the Wednesday we had another great bunch of photographers come on the ‘I Do I Do I Do’ workshop which is a portfolio building day. We had 3 fab couples including Aspire’s lovely Rachel all dressed up for the delegates to take some fab images. Below are a selection of images from both days. If you want to come onto an portfolio building day, Aspire are running further workshops throughout the year. Ashley who is looking after all those who are interested in booking their fabulous courses is waiting for you call!!

Kathryn & James : Pre-Wedding Ironbridge

Just a quick blog post to show you the pre wedding shoot pictures of Kathryn & James whose wedding we’re covering tomorrow.

I met up with Kate & James at their home in Shropshire and we did the shoot at a few locations around Telford. We spent some time in Ironbridge which was a gorgeous location and we managed to include the very photogenic bridge in some of the shots.

Kate & James are a great couple and we’re really looking forward to spending the day with Kate & James tomorrow at their wedding at Allerton Castle. It’s one of our favourite venues and it seems ages since we were there last, even though it was only last year. We’ll hopefully be posting up a few pictures from their wedding on the blog soon so check back here in a week or so.

Louise & Alistair : Goldsborough Hall

Last weekend we found ourselves back at the wonderful Goldsborough Hall near Knaresborough. This time it was for the lovely couple Louise & Alistair’s wedding. After a fantastic week of summer like weather it was looking like that the weather would break on the Saturday and we were due heavy rain. But as you cab see from the pictures we ended up with another fab day. This time the ceremony was at Goldsborough church right next door to the hall before everyone walked back to enjoy a champagne reception. Take a look at some of the images we took throughout the day.
